Hybrid design teams

It makes sense to decentralize product and business teams into autonomous units. But product teams don't necessarily communicate with each others enough. Design team can act as a communication medium for roadmaps and consitent design patterns. A centralized design team works as an opposing force for decentralized product teams.

Designers are not part of general pool of resources. Designers are not just working with teams that don't understand what they are doing. Great design happens with others designers.

Rotation strategy

Rotation - senior and junior designers should rotate faster to bring understanding from other organization. Leads should stay in product area for more than 12 months. This forces ephemeral teams write down and proceduralize the ways of working.
